GREAT RESULTS FOR THE UKIP CANDIDATES IN THE OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL ELECTIONS

From the count in Abingdon this morning

One second place and many third places for the UKIP candidates in the Oxfordshire County Council elections. No seats won but we are snapping at their heels now !

Here is a summary of the results for the 15 UKIP candidates :

Dickie Bird : 263 votes, 3rd out of 5

John Brown : 406 votes, 2nd out of 5

Barbara Fairweather : 281 votes, 3rd out of 5

Peter Gardner : 160 votes, 9th out of 10

Julia Gasper : 541 votes, 7th out of 10

Pam Gee : 268 votes, 4th out of 5

Jacqueline Jones : 353 votes, 3rd out of 5

Peter Jones : 614 votes, 5th out of 9

Richard Moller : 339 votes, 10th out of 10

David Phipps : 759 votes, 5th out of 7

David Robinson : 447 votes, 3rd out of 5

Nikolai Tolstoy : 223 votes, 3rd out of 5

John Williamson : 307 votes, 3rd out of 5

Jason Williams : 307 votes, 3rd out of 5

Linda Wren : 275 votes, 3rd out of 5

In these 15 divisions we have come in front of mostly Labour and Green candidates and also a couple of Liberal Democrats.

Its a huge advance on our local election performance in recent years and a great base on which to build for the future.
